December, has been known to initiate joyous holiday expectations, hopefulness of seeing family and friends and a time of rest, reflection and relaxation. For others, the month of December is dreaded due to work schedules, being away from family and just feeling alone at a time when the act of togetherness will not be embraced, supped, nor to become a beloved memory.
The 'spirit' of the season has been challenged the last couple years which has caused us all to re-evaluate, and re-invent those values. But most, importantly, it is how we think and adapt to these changes that brings about a positive response to the 'unknown.'
As William James, expresses, " The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another." Well, its not always that easy and takes practice, consistency and the formation of new habits to re-train our thought patterns. But, IF we do, we will be blessed!
